Extensive controlled and comparative research confirms clinical experience: Relationship Enhancement (RE®, developed by Dr. Bernard Guerney, Jr.) is an exceptionally powerful method for helping couples and families; it is also transforming for individuals.
With this training, you can use the RE skills to join effectively with your clients, and avoid the pitfalls of “resistance” or feeling pulled in the middle by couples or families. You will also be able to model, teach, and coach your clients, step-by-step, to use these same skills, which have been shown to be necessary for healthy and growth-enhancing relationships. The positive changes in the relationship, and with each partner, are often quick, profound, and lasting because this psycho-educational model puts the necessary tools into the hands of the clients.
Even experienced therapists have been shown by research to get better results with couples after a three-day training workshop in RE.
It is an excellent tool in particular for all professionals in the field of relationships (e.g. with primary relationships, families, and work teams), and can be used in various modalities (individuals, couples, groups, organizations). Relationship Enhancement Couple/ Family Therapy gives clear guidelines and practices most of us did not get to create and deepen healthy relationships and heal dysfunctional ones.
In this workshop, participants will learn and practice:
- The theoretical background of Relationship Enhancement® (RE)
- The various ways of teaching the 11 RE skills to couples and individuals
- Advanced skills of the RE therapist include crisis intervention and conflict management techniques
- The structuring of sessions including the very important first session.

- 80% of this workshop will provide opportunities to observe demonstrations and mostly to practice each part of the training with positive and supportive coaching.
